Summary
Well it didn’t take long for the Lions to get in to their stride did it! After a bit of sparring early on, Wibsey ran out convincing winners against a physical Shelf team. Due to the late kick-off and lack of players on both sides, the two games were joined in to one game of twenty minute thirds. To be fair, Shelf stuck to their task very well but ran out of steam in the final third which is not good against a team who always finish strongly. Nathan, Ben, Owen and Connor K. took the scoring honours to their credit but the whole team put in a brilliant display. Jack was safe in goal before injury forced him off but he brushed himself off and came back on to defend well towards the end. Connor B. shone in defence and despite his miss-giving might stay there. Adam showed good ability once more before standing in for Jack in goal and keeping well. Liam linked up and made some strong challenges in midfield and defence.
