Summary
The Lions’ met on the astro at The Grange due to the Den being waterlogged and both Pride’s were at stake in this first round tie of the league cup. Thanks to Almondbury for the late switch, it is much appreciated as we face the miserable winter weekends. Unfortunately Almondbury left with their tails between their legs after being hammered by a top ten from the Wibsey Lions. The home A team against the away B team told the story in a one-sided affair but all credit to the visitors for sticking to their task and never giving up. Owen scored a magnificent five goals in a tremendous performance. Jacob bagged four for himself as he led the front-line brilliantly and Connor got the other goal to make it three in three for him. Ben was ace in midfield and was at the start of most attacks. Travis and Brad had very solid games in defence and few problems dealing with the visiting strikers. Jack did well to keep concentrating and made some good saves from his brief duties.
