Summary
Wibsey got of to a poor start in the first league game against a strong and fast Rastrick team. The damage was done in the first half as the Lions struggled to keep their formation and Darren was off key in goal. Jacob had numerous chances but all too often fired wide or straight at the keeper. Connor B, Travis and Jack improved in the second half when Jack went in goal. Ben and Owen struggled in the middle but worked harder in the second half as Wibsey dug deep to get a goal back. Connor K did well off the bench but struggled sometimes with his positioning. All in all, the first half is best forgotten and encouragement should be taken on a gritty second half display that would have brought a goal on a better day. That said Rastrick did miss more chances than Wibsey so the result would not have been any different.
